I would suggest the following:

1) Re-install the script.
2) Contact your hosting company and ask them for specific login information.

A 400 status? That's a 'Bad Request'. It sounds like the server isn't setup to run scripts in the directory you are trying to run mysqlman in.

Check with your ISP about where you can execute scripts.

Alex

404? What is the URL you see at the login page, and the URL you see at the 404 page?

Cheers,

Alex

This is what i think. You need to set the path to the template like this:
"./templates".
I got 404 if I left the "." out.

http://www.sitename.com/cgi-bin/mysqlman/sitename.com/cgi-bin/mysqlman/mysql.cgi looks like you have a wrong setting in your .cfg file.

What worked for me was

Code:

# FILES
# --------------------------------------------------------
# the url to support.cgi. No Trailing Slash Please.
script_url => "mysql.cgi",
home_url => "http://www.sitename.com/cgi-bin/mysqlman",
template_dir => $script_path . "/templates",
Is that what you have?

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you on that one. I don't know enough about how it all works to be able to debug any further.

Hi!

I have the same problem. I cannot login using MySQLMan.

If I telnet to my site and enter mysql -h.... -u..... -p.....
then it works fine!

If I use MySQLMan, it returns with "Login failed" or "Cannot connect to mysql server"

What is the problem???? Any idea?

Re: login impossible In reply to
I found out my error was to put under : "database used "
the server database location instead of simply the
"database name".

That's all I can say.

Thanks Aford!

I found a solution/workaround! Indeed, it is impossible to login via the normal login panel. I guess it is because we are only hosted, we are not owner of the server, therefore we do not have "root" access to create new databases!

But, the script has the possibility to "direct_connect"!!

And that's the only way for me to get in! I filled out the corresponding fields in "mysql.cfg" and now it works fine!!!

A great help, this script!!! :-)

Your hint, Aford, led me to the solution. Thanks again!

Kind regards.
