I am able to connect to the mysql server at my host using telnet and the supplied host, port, username and password.

Using the same information in the mysql.cfg file, mysqlman will give me the following message when I attempt to login:

Login failed. Please enter another hostname/username/password.

Please tell me what is wrong.

Make sure that you are using the correct combination of access information. Make sure that you have the correct host specified in the login form. That seems to be a common problem...most people do not use their correct host in the .cfg file and also in the login form.
