Hi,

One of the fields when adding to the database is the description field, the only problem is that sometimes there is no description for a particular record, so I just leave it blank. I was thinking that it will just leave it blank, except that's not what happens. When I call for the description in the search results, or by add success, I get "default", no matter if I have typed something in the description field, or If I just left it blank.

Please help.

My guess is that your Description field is field number 9 and that you are logged on as the default user. If my guess is correct, in default.cfg, change $auth_user_field to -1.

You will have to delete the "default" from any records you have already entered, but it shouldn't show up again.

Glad I could help. This is a sneaky problem that doesn't seem obvious at all unless you've been around the forum for as long as I have and seen similar things before.

I'm pleased to know that I have saved some follicles from being cast aside.
