Gossamer Community Beta 2
Hi,

We're happy to announce that beta 2 is ready to go. This release fixes over 54 bugs that have been discovered and mentioned on the forum. It only contains a few new features such as:

* You can restrict admin access to specific ip's.
* Table prefixes are supported
* Resync user table is supported
* Total number of logins is stored.

But it mainly fixes a large number of bugs in both the code and the plugins.

To upgrade from beta 1, you need to do a clean install of Community (overwriting the user tables), add your applications back in, and reinstall the Auth_Community plugins. I think you'll find Community quite a bit more stable.

We are currently working on Beta 3 which will contain:

* Remote applications
* Improved import/export
* Purge users
* Mass enable, disable, create for applications.
* Improved language separation

I hope to get this done pretty soon.

If you have any troubles with the new beta, please let me know.

Cheers,

Alex

Thanks a lot for the second beta. The application runs a lot smoother now!

Can you tell us what the status of the mod_perl support is? I am having some trouble with running community under mod_perl (in conjunction with GMail), and I would like to know if it is worth reporting those bugs.

Thanks.

I hope that Beta 3 will not require a new installation but just an upgrade.

I greatly welcome "the restrict admin access to specific ip's" feature!
Is it possible to limit like 123.123.123.* ?

Alex:

Are there upgrades to the templetes (like added code we should be aware of?) or can I use my beta 1 templetes?

I got a LOT of errors with the new version...

I tried to delete the field "prof_age" and got a java error (line 103, I think...) But I was able to add and modify edisting fields...

Whgen I tried to import users, none were imported. YThe error log showed than all the fields to be imported were empty, and it could not import empty fields (this was for all fields, name, e-mail, password, etc)

I also got a java error when I tried to "match-up" data on the import... so I could not import any custome fields...

Got it working. As I thought, it was something set weird in my browser. It is the same broser that I set up .9.0 in, so it is weird it would act funny with .9.1...

But I used a different browser, and it worked!

Dear Alex, for Gossamer Community Beta 2

1) I imported all users from Gforum to G Community, which result not enabled (forum Status=not created).

Do i have to enable them one by one? Where AutoCreate User was set to yes while adding the application.

2) i enabled mine, but still not recognized by the forum (already added the link of the forum on user_home.html: http://mysite.com/cgi_bin/zforum/gforum.cgi?)

Help

Thanks
