Whenever I try to log on to MySQLMan, I get a response "Login failed. Please enter another hostname/username/password."

MySQL server is on the same machine as MySQLMan, I can log into mysql through shell normally, and (the most important imho), in mysql.log there are no traces of any login attempts (though any other local/remote acesses are logged normally).

Just to avoid any answers like "check login name/password", I must say that I can connect through a shell with same login name and password and any non-web based MySQL administration tools work normally also.

You are using localhost in the HOST NAME field, right???

If any of three fields are incorrect, then you cannot login.

Double check the name of your MySQL server...most are defaulted to "localhost".
